UDL, or Universal Design for Learning, is a movement that promotes a change in perspective when creating or designing lessons. The idea is that if teachers consider the potential barriers within the lesson during the design phase, students will learn better. The processes promotes differentiation and the understanding that the lesson needs to anticipate challenges, rather than tailoring the lesson after it is created. In my current Master's level Educational Technologies course, I was challenged to evaluate a lesson that I have taught through the lense of UDL principles. I have identified barriers within the lesson as well as features according to these principles.
